thats why i typed C: but now i have to wait for the external to be done error checking to try anything else. i tried testing the xml file on my day to day laptop first. the xml file on the external is the one that VDJ keeps telling me is corrupt. Don't forget to use the correct drive letter for your machine when doing the steps above.[/quote well i'm assuming it is. If the you do get an error then the drive the file is on is the one that needs fixing. PLEASE someone from atomix help me address this problem.įirst you said it was the external drive that was giving you problems correct? So why are you trying to mess with the C: drive's database? So if my external drive is letter F Open a command prompt window Change to the external drive by entering -> F: Now the database file sits in the root so all you have to do is type -> copy "VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml" NUL Like the article says - "If this succeeds, the problem is not actually with the file itself, but the location you were trying to copy it to." So that means where ever you are trying to put the file needs to be checked. I'm getting so tired of rebuilding bpms, cue points, loop points etc. i have tried coping the xml file both from the hd to the internal hd on the laptop and even saved to a folder itself on the new HD and it will not do it. I REALLY REALLY REALLY need this problem solved. so then i open recycling bin hit restore and it shows that it restored the old file but when i go to the folder it should be in NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF! luckily i had another copy of the same file saved in another folder but again now i just lost EVERYTHING but the bpms that i built a few days ago. But for the linked video path, it could be path sensitive, cant recall. Indeed the ver 6 and ver 7 databases are compatible/identical. If you look at the XML file on the ROOT drive of your HD, you swill see 'VirtualDJ Local Database v6'. Very confusing setup All I want is my database in my documents as that folder is backed up daily to a different HD, where as the root of the drive isnt But this isnt an issue now. then after the new one shows up in the folder it popped up "cylinder redundency" and then it disappeared. Hopefully a teamer will chime in with the answer. Oh also then theres 'VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml' and 'VirtualDJ Database v6.xml' I cant remember whats the difference or need for both. i dragged it from the hd to my documents and it went to copy the file it asked if i want to replace the old one i hit yes, it deleted the old one copies the new one. i played all night setting cue points etc and when i closed vdj i went to copy the new database file into my documents. Thank you all.It happened AGAIN! last night same bullshit. As I know I didn't copy, drag or transfer anything onto my own stick which only has a tiny memory. Would this have cleared her already added data base? As we cannot understand where it all went and why it had to be reloaded? Is this something I did, or as the comments above state, something that happens with vdj when another storage device is detected. it wont open, and its size is 0 bytes, which indicates theres nothing in it. And at a time that corresponds of when I had it in her laptop. When checking my own memory stick today, there s an empty icon file on it called virtual dj local database v6. I added what I could find, although not everything, as they were nt all in the 1 designated file. So as she sang, I tried to find on her laptop, where her own files were stored, so as to re add them. However, when she began her gig, although her own playlist was present, songs requested by singers were nt coming up as they always do. Her VDJ was running at the time, and I added these files from my memory stick onto her laptop files and then press the "Add to search data base " button, so as to make them appear on her vdj search engine. I went to my friends gig last week with a memory stick to put 5 new sunflys on her laptop before she began.
